MAKE & DECORATE

When it comes to home improvement, there are a number of factors that come into play when trying to create your perfect dream home. There are a number of tasks to complete, and a number of decisions to make, before your dream home can become a reality, in other words. However, I think we can all agree that it’s worth once we see our perfect dream home become a reality. That being said, it’s still a lot of hard work, both in the execution phase and in the planning phase, and so it helps to take some extra time to research some ideas and techniques to help you on your quest for the perfect home. Here are some tips to help you get started.

First and foremost, there’s no substitute for good old fashioned exposure when it comes to finding inspiration, and so might I recommend taking a trip to find some stunning examples of interior design? There are many historic homes that are now protected landmarks and tourist traps, so you can easily get a front row seat, so to speak, to these stunning displays, and that can do wonders to help you find a clue as to what your perfect home looks like. However, a more modern, or even a non residential, building may help just as much, if not more. So, why not rent a car with Hertz and get out there and see what you can see?

Another important facet of interior design is functionality. While we primarily want a home that looks nice and is a suitable expression of our personality, it’s also important that our home is conducive to habitation, that it’s livable. Therefore, one major factor you’ll want to consider is navigation. We don’t always think about navigating a space as small as a house, and that’s because it is so small as to make it hard to get lost, but then that’s not the type of navigation I mean. What I’m referring to is the act of traversing your home. Therefore, you’ll want to make moving through your home as effortless as possible with careful consideration of the layout of your furniture.
