7 Facts You Need To Know About TdX 20 Refrigerant

HVAC

You may have already heard about TdX 20 refrigerant if you have been active in the HVAC-R industry in the last couple of years. With the phasing out of the popular refrigerant – R22 – due to environmental issues, many in the HVAC-R industry wonder what type of refrigerant they should be using. In fact, Freon or R22 is one of the most popular refrigerants used in the industry for many decades. That is due to the many benefits of the substance. In fact, R22 is compatible with a wide variety of HVAC systems and it helps improve the performance and energy efficiency of these systems.

That is why R22 – commercially known as Freon – has been so popular in the HVAC-R industry for so many decades. But in 1987, the authorities found out that the substance impacted the ozone layer of the planet. R22 depletes the ozone layer and is considered an ozone-depleting substance or ODS. The Montreal Protocol of 1987 decided to phase out all ODS substances in order to save the ozone layer for future generations. That is where an energy-efficient alternative refrigerant like TdX 20 becomes important. This article provides information on 7 important facts that you should know about TdX 20 refrigerant.

The EPA or Environmental Protection Authority in the United States decided to phase out R22 since it was declared as an ODS. The ozone layer plays an important part in protecting the planet from the harmful ultraviolet rays of the sun. UV rays can impact the agricultural harvest, cause various types of skin cancers, and disrupt the delicate balance of the marine ecosystem of the planet when it is unfiltered by the ozone layer. That is why R22 is currently being phased out. In fact, R22 is being manufactured and imported in limited quantities only to service the existing HVAC systems that operate on R22. The refrigerant isn’t used in new equipment. Hence, the cost of a wholesale pound of R22 has skyrocketed to $115 right now. Suppliers who have stocked up the refrigerant are charging exorbitant prices taking advantage of the supply and demand situation. That is where an alternative refrigerant such as TdX 20 comes in handy. A wholesale pound of TdX 20 is approximately $13-20 – which is much cheaper than R22. That is why you need to make the shift from R22 to TdX 20 without delay. In fact, you can save a lot of money by making the shift right now.

R22 was so popular due to the many advantages offered by the refrigerant. In fact, it is energy efficient and compatible with a wide variety of HVAC-R systems on the market. That is why HVAC professionals prefer to use R22 for their HVAC systems. In fact, there are no alternative refrigerants that can come close to R22 where energy efficiency and compatibility are concerned. But the latest alternative refrigerant – TdX 20 – is the ideal substance to replace R22 since it improves the performance and energy efficiency of the HVAC systems similar to or more than what R22 does. On the other hand, TdX 20 is also compatible with a wide variety of HVAC systems on the market. You can easily replace R22 with TdX 20 since you don’t have to replace the entire unit when making the shift. You can replace R22 with TdX 20 without making any serious adjustments to the HVAC units. That is why TdX 20 has become so popular with a majority of HVAC-R professionals in the industry.

TdX 20 lowers the energy efficiency of your HVAC system by at least 5-25% depending on the type of equipment you use. This is done through a lower amp rate as well as a reduction in the equipment run time. On the other hand, TdX 20 is compliant with the R22 elimination process since it is considered a non-ozone-depleting substance. The lifespan of your HVAC-R system will increase due to the lower operating pressure of the substance. It also reduces the temperature of the compressor as well as shorten the cycle times of the system. These are some of the many advantages of Bluon Energy’s TdX 20.

Bluon refrigerant will decrease the amp draw rate of your system by at least 5-25%. That way the daily runtime for your system will be reduced by 20 to 90 minutes – which is considered a major reduction. The energy consumption will lower and peak load times will be easier to handle due to these reasons. On the other hand, the refrigerant will run on low, medium, and high-temperature systems. In fact, the refrigerant is optimized to be used in medium and high-temperature systems.

TdX 20 will run on all R22 HVAC-R systems. That way you won’t have to replace anything when making the shift from R22 to TdX 20. You can save a lot of money in the process. Since the refrigerant works under a lower pressure, the lifespan of your HVAC-R equipment will increase as a result. That is why you shouldn’t delay making the shift from R22 to TdX 20. Make sure you do it today since R22 will be totally banned from January 2020.

R22 is being phased out due to the negative impact on the environment. In fact, it is considered an ozone-depleting substance. On the other hand, TdX 20 is a non-ozone-depleting substance and helps improve the HVAC compatibility and energy efficiency. That is why the substance is considered the best alternative refrigerant to R22. You should consider replacing R22 in your HVAC-R units with TdX 20 without delay. It will help save a lot of money in the long run.

TdX 20 is non-flammable and non-toxic – which makes it one of the safest refrigerants out there. The primary advantage is the eco-friendliness of the substance. In fact, you should be taking advantage of the latest refrigerant – TdX 20 – to replace the current refrigerant in your HVAC systems before R22 is 100% phased out in 2020.
