We see frames in larger bathrooms in areas such as on the mirrors and on the shower however in smaller bathrooms these can take away from the illusion of having more space. Opting for a frameless mirror and an entirely glass shower entrances allows the invisible edges to blend seamlessly into the walls as though they are barely there, opening up the eye to the surrounding light of the room.
Shallow Countertops & Cabinets
Smaller bathrooms generally mean you are living in a smaller home and this often means your need for storage space in the bathroom is minimal. By using smaller countertops and cabinets, you are able to free up more space between the necessities such as the shower, tub and toilet. If you are afraid that these smaller spaces might be less practical, the upside is your bathroom will feel a loss less cluttered, opening up even more space than you had previously.
Create Space with Tiles
Having your tiles go from floor to ceiling goes a long way to create the illusion of space in both width and depth. To do this, you would need to get the colour scheme just right. We recommend making the use of white wall tiles since it creates a clean look that can easily play off the light without feeling like anything is being blocked in. Additionally, having floor tiles that complement the wall will also allow the colours to blend well, creating a separation between floor and wall that will stand out while achieving the look that you love.
Larger Mirrors
Having a larger mirror, one that is either part of the cabinet or wall, can greatly expand the light within the room. If you prefer, you can add in a second mirror that melds into the main one, creating the illusion that room stretches into infinity. Another great recommendation is focusing your lighting, whether it is natural or from a lamp, towards the mirror to spread the light throughout the rest of the room. You could also try expanding the space your cabinet takes up, extending it over the vanity to create the illusion of extra space.
