It can be troublesome knowing what you should take care of first, to the point that you start to feel overwhelmed. That feeling is understandable, but you shouldn’t allow it to get in the way of getting the job done. Pick something to start with, even something as simple as putting your tools away and work from there.
If you find that difficult to start with, then the best solution may be to empty out your entire shed and sort out the clutter so that you can figure out where to start. It’ll also help you sort out which items you no longer need to keep.
Maximizing Storage
It may seem counterproductive to buy more things o help with your clutter, but finding the best tool chest or storage shelves will help you to stay productive. When in doubt, go for storage options that are adjustable so that you can maximize on the things it can hold.
Label your storage bins and shelves so that you know where everything is and where it belongs. You’ll have a much easier time finding the things you need when you need them instead of spending hours and hours looking for your equipment.
Being Creative with Storage
If you notice that you have an extra supply of certain items that you’re not using, then give them an alternative use. Turn extra buckets and planters into storage options for your balls of twine, tools, or potting soil that you’re not currently using. That way, you can stay more organized.
Adding A Pegboard
A pegboard may seem like an organization tool for inside, but it can work wonders in your shed. You can hang up your small gardening tools that you need t keep on hand but out of the way. Just add a few hooks and you have the perfect place for all of your smaller garden items to go.
Getting S-Hooks
S-hooks are some of the most underutilized items you could be adding to your shed. They are hooks in the shape of an S that can attach to your ceiling to hold your larger items, like hoses, rakes, whatever you can think of. Place a hanging basket on one of these to hold your nails or screws that you don’t want to lose. They’re a great idea, easy to use, and don’t cost a lot.
Organizing Tools Properly
You may have everything in place, but you’re still going to be hindering yourself if you put your most commonly used items in the most difficult places to reach. Put all of your frequently used items in a place that’s easy for you to reach so that you can get to them quickly and start working. Invest in a small caddy where you can keep these items so that you can just grab it and go.
Some people may also used their sheds as a place to get away from work and relax. But you can’t do that if you don’t stay organized. Keep the clutter away so that you can have the peace of mind that you deserve.
